Just a quick journal to let you guys know what is happening atm. Downed about a pints worth of red bull on the way home so I'm a bit hyper lmao.

In terms of art, I'm working on a solo piece for the heartsurge release right now and am planning a collab which'll also be for the heartsurge release. It's gonna be a sweet pack btw, really is . I might find the time to make something new for deviantart inbetween now and then, if not they will be the next uploads you see from me.

Apart from that, just focusing on the real. Work, college, whatever. It's been a very up/down start to the year for me, some positive and some negative stuff in my life for the last month. As of now though, just gonna live in the present.

I'm gonna start using twitter more as well, I kind of hate social networking sites in general but twitter is kind of addictive lol, I like it. So if you wanna follow me for whatever reason, my profile is here.

Now I'm gonna go on a quick rant. Social networking sites...man. I really hate them. Things like dA are ok because they have purpose, they're art based and it's a good place to showcase your art. But things like facebook...I'm sorry but really. I know I'm probably gonna piss a lot of people off but wtf. I suppose it depends on how you use it. This one guy I know always posts stuff when hes out, things like "OH YEAH MAN I'M HAVING SUCH A GOOD TIME THIS PLACE IS THE BEST YEAAAAAH MAN!!" and it's like well if you're having such a good time, why are you sitting in the corner on your mobile phone posting crap on facebook that no one really cares about? IT GETS ON MY TITS is all I'm saying. If you use it just to stay in touch with mates, see what's going on let people know whats happening in your life or whatever then yeah go for it. But these people that are like "Hey brb in 5 minutes, just gonna go take a leak" are taking it a bit too seriously IMO lol.

And finally, once again thanks for the support and shiz, much appreciated. Some really good things have come out of my dA, some commissioned work and I am doing a video recorded interview for someones university project in March I think also which is gonna be sweet. None of it would've happened if it wasn't for you guys, so cheers!

Lots of things to talk about. First of all, happy new year everyone! Funny how each year goes by, it feels like time goes faster and faster.

So I finally got some money together to put together a new computer. I've been using a laptop for the past 2 years, a rather bad one. It was fine for the basics, but when it came to things like Photoshop and Cinema4D etc it was a disaster. To give you guys a rough idea, the liquify filter and smudge tool were simply out of the question. The lag was just ridiculous, I'd be waiting 15-30 seconds per brush movement depending on the image size, and it would often crash Photoshop entirely. There was just lag EVERYWHERE, and it got to the point where I just didn't feel like doing art anymore. The pieces I did manage to make were only half-assed, I'd always look at it, think about other things I could do to make it better but never pull through because by this time the lag had pissed me off so much I just couldn't be bothered. So yeah, to start off the year I've built my own computer and so far so good! It runs like a beast, is super quiet and Photoshop etc are l lag free finally! Here's a pic:

Excuse the mess, haven't really had a chance to tidy up :S. So now I have my new computer, the want to do art is back for me. Not only that, it should be of a considerably better standard, as without the lag I'll be able to work with ease and enjoy it .

That being said, I'm looking to expand and get my work more "out there". Not sure how to word it really. So I joined Behance, first impressions are it's an awesome site and I'd recommend it to anyone who's looking to make a portfolio, be it for professional purposes or just for fun. For me, as of now it's just for fun . It lets you link your twitter account and stuff like that, I've only just started getting into it and making my profile so I still have loads to do over there, but so far the sites great. So the plan now is to make art when I can, you'll be seeing all kinds of different things from me, so keep an eye out.

Finally, I'm looking to join an art group. Groups such as DepthCORE, Evokeone etc have always inspired me and I'd love to be a part of something similar. If there are any art groups out there that are looking for new members or something, let me know!
